Short Term Planner:  The Architect of Our Timetable Success!

We are looking for a short term planner to join our timetable and planning team.

In this role, you will be responsible for producing our timetable and coordinating our response to any engineering work. Your main focus will be developing comprehensive short term train plans and timetables, taking into consideration any engineering work that may impact our operations. Your goal will be to ensure that Avanti West Coast runs a smooth and efficient timetable that meets the needs of our valued stakeholders.

Additionally, you will also have the opportunity to work on special requests, such as accommodating for sporting events or other business needs, alongside our Traincrew Diagramming Team. Your attention to detail and ability to come up with feasible solutions will play a vital role in this process.

Some of your key responsibilities:

• Assist as required in ensuring that the planning, timing, and diagramming takes place of any additional train services
• Understand the implications of engineering access plans on depot access and the ability to meet train maintenance and stabling requirements;
• Collaborate with the Traincrew Diagramming Team to ensure cost effective traincrew resource diagrams can be developed and issued to relevant timescales
• Ensure that Network Rail (NR) engineering and Train Operating Companies (TOCs) train plans are thoroughly checked to ensure compatibility.

 The ideal candidate will be:

• A good communicator of complex information to inform both internal and external stakeholders.
• Organised and work to demanding and inflexible timescales.
• Able to consider multiple factors to make appropriate decisions.
• Data analysis skills to find patterns or errors in large amounts of data.
