Senior Onboard IT Service Manager: Where Technology Meets the Tracks – Drive the Future of Rail IT!

We’re looking for a dynamic Senior Onboard IT Service Manager to join our Technology team. In this strategic and hands-on role, you’ll lead the management and improvement of critical onboard systems that support both operations and customer experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee continuity, support, and performance of systems like Passenger Wi-Fi, POSIM, Ethernet Train Backbone, and Mobile Networks
  • Provide technical expertise for integrated systems (e.g. seat reservations, CCTV, passenger info screens)
  • Manage supplier relationships, budgets, and service levels
  • Lead service improvements and integration between onboard and wayside systems
  • Support cross-functional projects and ensure alignment with business goals

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong knowledge of onboard/wayside tech (Wi-Fi, mobile networks, customer-facing systems)
  • Expertise in IT Service Management (ideally ITIL-based)
  • Experience managing multi-vendor environments and service delivery
  • Excellent stakeholder and supplier relationship skills

This role role is based across  Avanti West Coast Trains, Stations, Maintainer depots and offices.
