As part of the wider Engineering and Infrastructure division, our Property Team is dedicated to delivering top-notch hard and soft facilities management services across our network. Our goal is to ensure that all our locations are clean, safe, well-maintained, and compliant, providing the best environment for both our people and customers.

You will manage Fire Safety, oversee Fire Risk Assessments and offer advice support and guidance on Fire safety across the business. You'll ensure compliance with legislation on fire safety, water hygiene and electrical testing. You'll also conduct audits to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Fire Safety Management: Oversee fire safety arrangements, including risk assessments, training, project consultancy, and providing guidance to stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Procedures: Update and maintain fire safety procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation and industry best practices.
  • Contract Oversight: Manage supplier contracts for fire risk assessments, fire systems, and extinguisher maintenance, including performance reporting and KPI tracking.
  • Steering Groups & Meetings: Chair Fire Safety steering groups and associated meetings.
  • EICR Programme Management: Oversee the mandatory EICR 5-year programme, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Responsible Person accountability for Water Hygiene, overseeing and actioning the recommendations from Water Risk Assessments.

Who we're looking for:

  • Fire Safety Standards: Thorough understanding of fire safety standards.
  • Health & Safety Policies: Knowledge of Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity policies and procedures.
  • Professional Competence: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory compliance legislation and railway standards.
  • Communication & Relationships: Skilled communicator, able to influence and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Organisational & Presentation Skills: Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise workload, and strong written and oral communication for presenting data and reports.
