Join our Fleet Engineering team and help shape the reliability, safety and performance of our trains. From introducing new technology to leading fleet improvement projects, we’re driving innovation across our rolling stock and we want you to be part of it.

 

Purpose of the Role

  • Complete a series of structured placements across the business, learning directly from experienced engineers and subject‑matter experts.
  • Support Operations, Customer Experience and Project Management teams in delivering key rolling stock projects.
  • Develop the competencies required to progress into an engineering role and work towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside members of the Engineering team to develop practical engineering knowledge and skills.
  • Meet agreed objectives and deadlines for each rotation.
  • Support project activities and take ownership of assigned tasks or deliverables.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops and team events, contributing your ideas and insights.
  • Prepare reports, documentation and presentations to support engineering decisions and approvals.
  • Assist the Engineering Manager with day‑to‑day tasks and project coordination.
