Job description

This critical role safeguards revenue at risk by enforcing company policies and strategies relating to ticketless and fraudulent travel. You will lead investigations into complex fraudulent activity, compile evidence for prosecution or out-of-court settlements, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Prevent, detect, and investigate complex fraudulent activity committed by passengers, compiling detailed reports on revenue recovery.
  • Analyse data, financial records, and transactional information to identify patterns, anomalies, and fraud indicators.
  • Liaise with external agencies, law enforcement, and legal counsel during investigations.
  • Monitor fraud trends and emerging techniques to stay ahead of evolving threats.
  • Provide guidance and training to On Board and Station colleagues on fraud awareness and prevention.
  • Assist in recovering losses through legal means or negotiated settlements.
  • Ensure compliance with The Fraud Act 2006, Railway Byelaws, and industry standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in Revenue Protection within Rail.
  • Strong understanding of The Fraud Act 2006 and Railway Byelaws.
  • Proven experience in fraud investigation and resolution processes.
  • Knowledge of legal and prosecution procedures related to fraud.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ticket types, railcards, and travel documentation

*Travel will be required across the network.
