Driver Manger - Driving Excellence in Railway Operations!
Are you an operational leader ready for your next exciting challenge in Train Driver Management? We are on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled individual to join our Wolverhampton Driver Management Team as a Driver Manager!
In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of maintaining high levels of operational excellence. Your mainline train driver expertise and experience will be crucial in ensuring your team of drivers remains competent through thorough assessments, improvement plans, and the implementation of our competency management system. You'll also play a key role in the safe introduction of new drivers, routes, and equipment.
What You'll Do:
- Operational Excellence: Use your skills to maintain and enhance operational delivery, ensuring your team is always at its best.
- Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with Operations Standards, Network Rail, and staff representatives to implement strategies that boost operational safety and driver capabilities.
- Incident Management: Conduct thorough investigations of operational and occupational safety incidents, collaborating with teams to develop initiatives that improve train service performance and resilience.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead the way in learning from incidents and implementing actions from our Incident Learning Reviews.
What we're looking for:
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years' current UK mainline competence as a train driver.
- Knowledge: Detailed understanding of Avanti West Coast routes, infrastructure, and rolling stock.
- Skills: Proficiency in competency techniques, operational risk management, and basic HR processes. Familiarity with IT systems such as Microsoft Office, TRUST, Bugle, and OTDR analysis.
- Leadership: A coaching leadership style, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to make decisions based on factual information. Experience in leading teams and managing people and processes is essential.
The salary for this role is £79,165 rising to £83,123 after 6 months. Successful candidates will be held in a talent bank for up to 12 months. Offers will be made as and when vacancies arise.
