About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and professional Revenue Protection Team Leader to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in protecting revenue at risk by enforcing company policies and strategies relating to ticketless and fraudulent travel. You’ll ensure all passengers have valid tickets or the correct documentation for any discounts applied, while maintaining a calm and professional approach to customer interactions.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage a team of Revenue Protection Inspectors, ensuring effective rostering and deployment based on strategic insights.
- Work collaboratively with On Board and Station teams to safeguard revenue and deliver excellent customer service.
- Act as the subject matter expert on ticketing, supporting colleagues and ensuring customers enjoy a safe and comfortable journey.
- Liaise with other Train Operating Companies to conduct revenue protection activities across the Avanti West Coast network.
- Monitor and report on team performance against KPIs, addressing any issues promptly and in line with HR policies.
- Maintain and cascade up-to-date ticketing knowledge across the team.
- Coordinate training and coaching for new team members, ensuring high standards of competency.
- Deliver the revenue protection strategy by preparing accurate reports for prosecution of fraudulent activity, ensuring compliance with Railway Byelaws and SPOE standards.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of issued equipment, reporting faults or damage as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of ticketing systems and railway regulations.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in revenue protection or a similar role is desirable.
