Job description

Join our team as a Fleet Interface Engineer, where you'll bridge the gap between traincrew and management. You'll gather feedback, resolve queries, and act as an ambassador for collaborative working. Your leadership will be key in addressing customer experience issues, driving continuous improvements with internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, you'll ensure robust and customer experience plans, support business initiatives, and carry out Fleet on-call responsibilities. Flexibility is essential, as you'll cross-cover with the other Fleet Interface Engineer and undertake additional tasks as needed.

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Main Contact: Resolve queries and provide solutions, collaborating with the other Fleet Interface Engineer.
  • Audits: Ensure suppliers meet train presentation standards.
  • Monitoring: Check high-priority issues onboard or at depots.
  • Liaison: Manage supplier communication and support train plan reviews.
  • Support: Provide advice, review incidents, and assist in investigations.

Who we're looking for:

  • Knowledge: Essential knowledge of UK rolling stock and UK passenger railway operations; desirable knowledge of maintenance depot operations.
  • Attention to Detail: Thoroughly review all documentation and data.
  • Communication: Excellent communicator who represents the Fleet team.
  • Initiative: Self-starter who drives improvements using their own initiative.
  • Confidence: Confident in challenging the norm and having tough conversations with suppliers.
