We are seeking a dedicated Fleet Assurance Manager to join our team. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the effective management of safety protocols, adherence to processes, and the overall safety assurance of our fleet. As the key safety representative within the Fleet team, you will engage with both internal and external stakeholders on all fleet safety matters.

You'll also serve as the Professional Head of Engineering, initially as a deputy, progressing to the full role.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Professional Head of Engineering: Serve as the Professional Head of Engineering, starting as a deputy and progressing to the full role.
  • Fleet Safety Assurance: Manage and resolve safety-related defects, always aiming to improve safety performance.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into all T&Rs service safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement solutions to minimise future risks.
  • Fleet Management and Strategy: Ensure proposed changes are managed technically and considered from commercial, financial, and delivery perspectives.
  • 3rd Party Assurance: Embedded an assurance programme with our third-party maintenance suppliers and ensure this is planned and executed effectively.

Who we're looking for:

  • Technical Expertise and Experience: Knowledge of UK rolling stock, preferably EMUs, and the Engineering change process and experience working with UK rolling stock standards and procedures.
  • Safety and Incident Management: Experience in incident investigation and safety management.
  • Attention to Detail: Thorough review of all documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Communication and Initiative: Excellent communicator who can represent the Fleet team effectively, a self-starter who can drive improvements and challenge the status quo confidently.
  • Education: Qualified to degree level in Engineering discipline, preferable chartership or working towards.
