Duty Control Manager: Step Into the Heart of Rail Operations
Are you ready for a role that’s fast-paced, high-impact, and far from your typical 9–5? We’re looking for exceptional individuals to join our Talent Pool for the Duty Control Manager position, based at our Operations Control Centre in Birmingham.
This is a pivotal role at the heart of our railway operations, providing a vital link between our front-line teams and the control centre. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring we deliver the best possible service to our customers, day and night.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Rail Control Centre Expertise: Proven experience in a Railway Operational Control Centre environment.
- Leadership & Incident Management: Strong people leadership and end-to-end incident management, including debrief and learning.
- Communication & Collaboration: Effective communicator across all levels of the organisation.
- Analytical & Problem Solving: Skilled in delay investigation, attribution, and complex problem resolution.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient with operational systems and technology (e.g. TRUST, P2, CCF, RJIS, VMS, Microsoft Office).
This role involves 24/7 shift coverage, including:
- Night shifts
- Early starts (from 06:00)
- Late finishes (up to 22:00)
- Weekend working

If successful, you’ll be placed in our Talent Pool and offered a position as vacancies arise. Candidates may remain in the pool for up to 12 months.
